The sandstone Union Buildings and terraced gardens in Pretoria, South Africa's administrative capital

Pretoria city tours and day trips

South Africa's administrative capital: the Union Buildings, monumental architecture and jacaranda avenues, an easy day from Johannesburg — and our home city.

Pretoria is where South Africa is governed, and it feels quite different to Johannesburg an hour down the highway: greener, slower, laid out around gardens and grand sandstone architecture. In October the city turns purple as tens of thousands of jacaranda trees flower along the avenues.

A guided day typically includes the Union Buildings and their terraced gardens, where the nine-metre statue of Nelson Mandela stands; Church Square in the historic centre; the Voortrekker Monument on the ridge south of the city; and, depending on your interests, Freedom Park, the Pretoria National Botanical Garden or the Cullinan diamond mine east of town.

Dlamini 4 Africa is based in Garsfontein, Pretoria, so this is genuinely our home ground. We collect from any address in Pretoria or Johannesburg.
